Cut is the most important factor in assessing a diamond. Only the most exacting and
specific parameters of symmetrical and aligned facets are able to create the breath-taking brilliance of a diamond
A diamond may appear white or colourless to the naked eye, but minute impurities
within them affects their depth of colour, which are graded against a colour scale from D to Z.
One of the most moving properties of a diamond is how it is birthed from tremendous heat and
pressure deep within the earth. This crystallisation process naturally causes tiny inclusions and blemishes to appear, and is often referred
to as the diamond’s unique fingerprint. Diamonds with none or lesser of these characteristics are graded of higher clarity on a scale.
A measure of the weight of each diamond, 1 carat is equivalent to 0.20g in weight.
However, considering the size of a diamond on its own is not meaningful - a diamond may seem
larger or smaller than its carat weight, depending on its cut, designs and its setting.
Beyond the 4C’s
Love & Co. goes beyond the standard 4Cs by individually selecting diamonds against additional rigorous criteria to ensure only the most brilliant diamonds are chosen to be Lovemarque diamonds.
